PROJECT BACKGROUND
‘Dream Homes: property sales brochures in Hong Kong 1970s–2000s’ is an exhibition that showcases a collection of printed artefacts and stories that illustrate how the Hong Kong dream has been manufactured in the last four decades. Supported by architect–collector Mr Alfred Ho, the exhibition displays valuable and original copies of property sales brochures for the public to understand more about the in-depth values of the Hong Kong dream.
PROJECT CONCEPT
Property sales brochures represent stories about how the Hong Kongers work towards their life goal of owning a property. Not only do these brochures provide information for home-buyers to make decisions, they can also be treated as cultural products, fabricating our collective imagination of what this ultimate Hong Kong dream may look like.
