The Princess
PROJECT BACKGROUND
This costume is inspired by “One Thousand and One Nights”. The story is about the Arabian Princess dreams of the male bird caught into a trap that was set-up by the bird hunter. The female bird destroyed the trap and saved him. On another day, the female bird was also caught into a trap, but the male bird didn't save her. But the truth is, the male bird was shot by the hunter when he went to save the female bird. For the female bird costume, I applied bird elements and different texture fabrics and colours to represent the character of the female bird. The Sumerian and Neo-Babylonians accessories also inspired me to create a crown and bead chain to show the noble image of a princess and dynamic through the dance.
